Florida pusley has been taking over parts of my lawn and leaving some patchy areas behind. I’m currently treating it with Prime Source Celsius WG and Southern Ag Surfactant. Here’s my step-by-step experience so far.
What Florida Pusley Looks Like
● Low-growing mats that hug the ground
● Hairy stems and leaves
● Small white star-shaped flowers
● Very common in Florida and warm climates
My Current Treatment Plan
- Herbicide Application: I’m using Prime Source Celsius WG mixed with Southern Ag Surfactant. The surfactant helps the herbicide stick to the weeds and work better.
- Application Tips: Follow the label instructions exactly. Apply when the weeds are actively growing. Be careful with temperatures — some products can damage grass in extreme heat. Wear proper protection and keep pets and kids off the treated area until dry.
- Fixing the Patchy Grass: After knocking back the weeds, I plan to: Test my soil. Aerate if needed. Overseed with good grass seed. Water and fertilize to help the lawn fill back in. I’ll update this post with progress photos and results over the next few weeks. Have you dealt with Florida pusley? What worked for you? Leave a comment below!
